How to use SFTP with FileZilla

Step 1: Download and install FileZilla

Visit the official FileZilla websitearrow-up-right and download the appropriate version for your operating system.

Follow the installation instructions to install FileZilla on your computer.

Step 2: Add Clario to the Site Manager

  • In FileZilla, navigate to "File" > "Site Manager" or use the shortcut Ctrl+S (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+S (Mac) to open the Site Manager.

  • Click on the "New Site" button and give your site a name.

  • In the "Protocol" dropdown menu, select "SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol".

  • Enter the hostname of Clario's SFTP server in the "Host" field: sftp.clar.io

  • Enter the port number: 22

  • Choose "Key file" as the Logon Type.

  • Enter your username.

  • Browse to locate your key file (it will be the file that doesn't have the .pub extension).

  • Click on "Connect" to save the settings and establish the connection.

Step 3: Connect and transfer files

Once connected, you will see the local files on the left side and remote files on the right side of the FileZilla interface.

In most instances, you will want to place files in the toClario/ directory. Files placed here will be automatically processed by Clario and removed from the directory once the transfer is complete. Only place files in the toClario/ directory if instructed to do so.
